<p>The anthem is &nbsp;"Sing to the Lord now, all the earth" (Ps. 96:1-6).</p>
<div>Sing to the Lord now, all the earth,</div>
<div>A new song shall proclaim His worth.</div>
<div>Sing to the Lord and bless His name,</div>
<div>His great salvation loud proclaim.</div>

This program is designed to guard against the kind of frustration that usually comes quickly with most yearly Bible reading programs. &nbsp; The readings are not too long. You will not read the entire Bible word for word, but only key portions of each book. &nbsp; You can read more if you want. &nbsp;Or you can even read less. &nbsp; But if you read some portion of what is assigned and come to class the following Sunday, you will get a good overview of the entire Bible.</p>

As Thomas Jefferson hopefully specluated during the formation of our nation, "And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter. But we may hope that the dawn of reason and freedom of thought in these United States will do away with all this artificial scaffolding."</p>
<p>And yet, in the Apostle's Creed, Christians still confess their belief and trust in Jesus Christ, the only son of God, their Lord, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. What do we mean when we confess that Jesus was born of a virgin? Why does it matter whether or not Jesus is the Son of God? Come and join us on Sunday evening, July 17 at 5pm at Providence Church as we consider these questions together.&nbsp;</p>
