Men's Retreat - Sept 11 & 12

CORRECTION: Retreat dates are Sept 10 & 11, not Sept 11 & 12 as the link states. Sorry!

Dear Congregation,

Here are the details for the Fall Men's Retreat, which is coming up in just several weeks. The retreat will be held at the church building and begin at 7pm on Friday, September 10. After a time of teaching that evening, we'll also have a time of fellowship and discussion outside in the church parking lot. We'll then reconvene at 9am the following morning (Saturday, Sept 11) and have some more teaching and discussion. The retreat will end at 1:30pm on Saturday (lunch will be served).

The speaker for the retreat will be Luke Brouwer, a graduate of Covenant Seminary who directs a local Christian ministry called Sanctuary St. Louis, and is also a practicing and experienced Christian counselor. Luke has been married to his wife Julie for 10 years, and has three children: Micah (7), Chloe (5) and Jude (3). Luke has written, spoken and thought through issues surrounding Biblical Masculinity for some time, and I'm confident that he will give us a great perspective on this topic.

Luke will be giving three lectures over the weekend, with plenty of time for questions and discussion as well.

Friday night the topic will be "Biblical Masculinity: an overview"; and on Saturday, the two topics will be: "Living as a Christian Husband" and "Living as a Christian Father."

The lectures and the conversations that follow should be practical and helpful to all of us.

I hope that many of you will be able to make it. In order to sign up for the retreat, please email me and let me know that you are coming, or sign up on the sheet that's on the literature table at church.

The cost is $10, due on the day of the retreat. If the cost is an issue, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Christ's Peace,

Pastor Anderson
