Pastor Jeff Meyers

Jeff grew up in the Crestwood and Sappington area of St. Louis, graduated from Lindbergh High School ('75) and the University of Missouri at Columbia ('79). After serving as an officer in the U.S. Army for four years, Jeff attended Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, but took three years off to teach at a Christian school in Texas. Upon graduation from Covenant Seminary ('88), he served three years as an Associate Pastor in Huntsville, Alabama, and then three years as Pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Houston, Texas.

Since coming to Providence in 1994, Jeff has earned his Master of Sacred Theology (S.T.M) and finished his Ph.D studies (ABD) in Systematic Theology at Concordia Theological Seminary.

Pastor Meyers has served on the Board of Trustees at Westminster Christian Academy in St. Louis.  He is also on the Board for Theopolis Institute and serves as a visiting instructor.

Jeff and his wife Chris give thanks for 42 years of marriage and four children: Rebekah, Lauren, Julia, and Jeffrey Jr.  Their children are all now happily married and beginning families of their own.  They have five grandchildren.

In his spare time, Jeff enjoys walking, competitive handgun shooting, hunting, drone photography, science fiction, and cooking. Pastor Meyers is the author of The Lord's Service: The Grace of Covenant Renewal Worship, as well as two popular commentaries. One on Ecclesiastes A Table in the Mist, and another recently published commentary on James Ancient Wisdom for Today’s Christian Dissidents.

Associate Pastor Caleb Skogen

Caleb grew up on Lookout Mountain, GA. He attended Mercer University in Macon, GA on a basketball scholarship where he met his wife, Catie. They were married in 2008, whereupon Caleb finished his undergraduate degree and graduated from Lee University in 2010.

After college, Caleb and Catie moved to North Carolina where Caleb worked for Classical Conversations, a home school curriculum company. Caleb served as the harmonics tutor, choir director, leader of the service internship, and head of administration for Mandala Fellowship in 2013. In 2014 he moved to St. Louis and in 2018 he received a M.Div and M.A. in Worship and Music from Covenant Theological Seminary.

Caleb and Catie have two daughters, Lindsey (9) and Penelope (5). Together, they enjoy visiting the St. Louis Zoo, the many St. Louis-area parks, and all the wonderful family attractions in St. Louis.

Assistant Pastor Mark Horne

Mark was born in Melbourne, FL, but was raised as a young child in Liberia, West Africa, where his parents were missionaries. He also went to high school in Kwajalein, Marshall Islands. Mark returned to the U.S. in 1985 to attend Houghton College in Western New York. After graduating, he worked as a writer for Coral Ridge Ministries in Fort Lauderdale, FL where he met and married his co-worker Jennifer in 1991. They moved to Nashville, TN, where Mark worked as a freelance writer.

In 1995 they relocated to St. Louis, MO, for Mark to attend Covenant Theological Seminary. They also became members of Providence Reformed Presbyterian Church. Mark graduated with an M. Div. in 1998. After seminary, Mark served as a pastor in Auburn, WA and then in Minco, OK. During seminary and these pastorates Mark and Jennifer had their four children, Calvin, Nevin, Jael, and Charis. They returned to St. Louis in 2005 for Mark to serve as assistant pastor at Providence for two years. Afterwards, he took time off from the ministry and worked as a freelance writer.

In 2015 Mark suffered a debilitating ischemic stroke but God graciously restored him to health. He was called again to be an assistant pastor at Providence in 2020.

Mark is also the executive director of Logo Sapiens Communications, a non-profit educational organization. He is the author of Solomon Says: Directive for Young Men (Athanasius Press 2020), a guide to understanding the book of Proverbs. He has also written other books, including J. R. R. Tolkien (Thomas Nelson/Harper Collins 2011), Why Baptize Babies: An Explanation of the Theology and Practice of the Reformed Churches (Athanasius Press 2007), and The Victory According to Mark: An Exposition of the Second Gospel (Canon Press 2003).
